The operation, dubbed "RapTor," involved law enforcement agencies from the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom, as well as other countries.

The majority of the arrests took place in the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom. In the Netherlands, no suspects were arrested, but authorities did identify several buyers and sellers and have not ruled out future arrests.
According to the police, the operation aimed to target individuals who believed they could remain anonymous while engaging in illegal activities on the dark web. "No one stays anonymous, not even on the dark web," a police spokesperson said.
Using the Dark Web for Criminal Purposes Illegal
While the dark web itself is not illegal, using it for criminal purposes is strictly prohibited. The police emphasized that their operation aimed to disrupt and dismantle illegal activities on these platforms, not to target the dark web itself.
