Nvidia Accelerates Humanoid Robotics with Custom Foundation Model and New Tools
By Netvora Tech News
Nvidia is pushing the boundaries of humanoid robotics with a custom foundation model and new tools, designed to accelerate the development of these advanced machines. At the recent Computex 2025 trade show in Taiwan, the company unveiled several innovations, including Isaac GR00T N1.5, a new foundation model for humanoid reasoning and skills, as well as Isaac GR00T-Dreams, a blueprint for generating synthetic motion data.
Nvidia's Isaac platform is designed to be open, generalized, and fully customizable, making it an attractive choice for humanoid and robotics developers. Several companies, including Agility Robotics, Boston Dynamics, Fourier, Foxlink, Galbot, Mentee Robotics, NEURA Robotics, General Robotics, Skild AI, and XPENG Robotics, are already adopting Nvidia's platform technologies to advance humanoid robot development and deployment.
"Physical AI and robotics will bring about the next industrial revolution," said Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, in a statement. "From AI brains for robots to simulated worlds to practice in or AI supercomputers for training foundation models, Nvidia provides building blocks for every stage of the robotics development journey."
Nvidia Isaac GR00T-Dreams is a blueprint that helps generate vast amounts of synthetic motion data, also known as neural trajectories, which physical AI developers can use to teach robots new behaviors, including how to adapt to changing environments. This data can be used to train robots to perform complex tasks, such as navigating through unfamiliar spaces or interacting with humans.
New Isaac GR00T Data Generation Blueprint Closes the Data Gap
The new Isaac GR00T-Dreams blueprint aims to address a critical challenge in humanoid robotics: the need for large amounts of high-quality training data. By generating synthetic motion data, developers can simulate a wide range of scenarios and environments, allowing them to train robots more efficiently and effectively.
